The Journey

THE EXHIBITION

Refugees take unique journeys to their new homes: through physical space, through legal gateways, through human relationships, through emotions and through time. In this exhibit, people from around the world share their artistic reflections on different refugee journeys. Some pieces reflect a person’s own journey, while others have been contributed by refugee sponsors who have welcomed refugees to their community.

Some contributors are established artists, writers or journalists, and some are young people who have recently arrived in their new home and who have shared their stories of journey through art. Where possible, we have indicated the country or location that is important to the artist’s reflection. Sometimes this is the place of departure, and sometimes it is the place of arrival, and sometimes it is both. We are grateful to all the contributors for sharing their journeys with us. We hope you enjoy the exhibit.
